How Do Men See Relationships Differently than Women Do?

Dr. Geoffrey Grief has written a whopping 14 books based on his relationship research, but his book, Buddy System: Understanding Male Friendships hooked me. In most of my own research, I refer to connection as a human thing rather than a gendered one. His writing, though, forced me to look at how men might bond differently than women do.

Men, Greif explains, bond shoulder-to-shoulder, many times during activities. Women prefer face-to-face. Many men see their partners as their best friends, whereas many women tend to see their partners as friends among a larger pool of connections.

In this talk, we go on to explore how to raise boys who end up vulnerable and caring as well. Take a look and shoot me a message to let me know what you think!
